Wisconsin winters can be brutal and it’s even more brutal to face it without sufficient winter clothing. However, many children and youth in the Milwaukee community face this harsh reality.
Allen Ebenezer seeks to respond to this need with "Warm Hands, Warm Hearts." Each year, with the support of membership and generosity of donors, like you, Allen gives new winter hat and glove (or mitten) sets to needy children.
Warm Hands, Warm Hearts - The first year...
In 2011, Allen was overwhelmed: overwhelmed by the need of children in the Milwaukee community, and overwhelmed by the kindness of those, who wanted to help.
When a member, who works in social services decribed the need, we knew we wanted to respond to it, but, it was a new idea. It was something we hadn't done before. So, we asked members and a few friends to help, and somehow 200 children were blessed with warm hands (and head) by the warm hearts of those who cared.
After seeing the need and willingness of Milwaukee to meet needs, Alllen decided to make "Warm Hands, Warm hearts" a yearly service. And, we also decided to do more...
